Have a nice weekend

Recently, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) introduced a special credit card that is valid throughout the week but can be used to get special discounts in the weekends.

Weekend excursions and avenues abroad are only a few elements of RBS’s latest card innovation and cardholders can expect more benefits to be added with special promotions in the coming months.

With their new credit card, the bank aims itself directly at young and working professionals. RBS wants them get more rewards so they can enjoy their hard earned weekends, said Mr Burhan Khan, Head of Retail Banking (UAE) in the media.

Is it time for banks to stop aiming at the masses and start paying attention to specific customer groups and their specific needs and desires? Will we get more special credit cards, bank accounts and insurances for women, gay, young professionals, pensioners, volunteers, et cetera? It might be a good idea to follow RBS’ example…
