Risk Management for Pros
As we reported in an earlier article, the economical crisis has underlined the importance of risk management. It has become apparent that existing risk models no longer apply and various financial constructions need to be re-assessed.
The Amsterdam Institute of Finance (AIF), together with the New York University Stern School of Business, have aptly responded to this situation by offering a new Executive Master of Science in Risk Management.
The Executive Master of Science in Risk Management is a post graduate program targeted at experienced managers and executives in the banking and finance industry. The 10-module program focuses on subjects such as credit risk management, bankruptcy, strategic- and reputational risk. The aim is to give risk managers a wider perspective on their operation, offering them the tools to put risk management on the corporate agenda and make it a structural part of the strategic decision making process.
The response thus far has been good: with applicants from amongst others HSBC, ING, ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank and the Agricultural Bank of China, it is clear that the AIF and Stern fill a definite need.
